FinMech at the Bamako Rally
In winter 2026, a FinMech-branded 4x4 driven by our colleague lined up at the start of the Budapest–Bamako Rally. Car no. 581 entered the Tour category and spent more than three weeks on its way from Budapest to West Africa – through desert, along the coast, across the savanna and into the rainforest.

The route
The Budapest–Bamako is one of the best-known amateur off-road rallies in the world. The 2026 edition started in Budapest and finished in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone:
Hungary → Morocco → Mauritania → Senegal → Guinea → Sierra Leone
The journey had everything you would expect from a rally like this: rocky canyon rims in Morocco, sandy coastal stretches along the Atlantic, dusty acacia savanna and, finally, the red dirt roads of Guinea's tropical forest.
What does this have to do with tooling?
More than you might think. A trip like this calls for thorough preparation, reliable equipment and quick problem solving – when something breaks, it has to be fixed there and then, often in a roadside workshop. We bring the same mindset to our everyday work: precise design, durable build and a fast response when it counts.
We are proud of our colleague for carrying the FinMech name all the way from Budapest to West Africa.
